With lockdown easing gaining momentum, our sights are set on the 4th July for re-opening the Salon and it’s fair to say we are just a bit excited about it. Just as our colonial cousins will be celebrating their Independence Day, we're going to be celebrating our Indep-hair-ndence Day and we are looking forward to sharing our plans with you all soon. Stay tuned! In our last update we let you know about some of the things we've been doing behind the scenes to get our team and our salon ready for the re-opening and now, with the 4th July looming, we want to make sure you’re all prepared for what we expect the new safety guidelines to be. As always, the whole team at Charlottes Academy wants to thank you for your ongoing support, and don’t forget our Home Colour Care Kits are still available and our online store is open for ordering any products we sell in the salon. Take care and fingers crossed we will see you soon!
New Appointments - What to expect
In order for us to operate the Salon safely once we open, our team will need to comply with all the guidelines set for us but we will need you to play your part too. Coming in for an appointment is going to be different and although we have no exact guidelines yet, these are some of the things we expect will be included:
A one-way system may be introduced for entering and leaving the salon.
2m zones will be marked out in tape on the floor for safe distancing.
Facemasks will have to be worn during your visit.
There may be no waiting area so arriving on time for appointments will be key.
Hands will need to be sanitised upon arrival.
Hair will have to be washed before cutting so no dry cuts will be available
Clients will have limited time in the salon so only basic colour treatments will be available
Refreshments during your treatment may not be possible
In addition, our team will be wearing full PPE, and as well as conducting our usual wash down, we will be using a UV sterilisation system to cleanse our equipment after each use.
Just in case the new guidelines aren't enough of a change for you, we've been really lucky to have a new Beauty Therapist and Senior Stylist join the team.
This is Karen who is joining the team as a Beauty Therapist.

Product of the month
Lockdown has been awful but for the lucky ones who can get outside, how great has this sunshine been?! Applying sunscreen is second nature to us all but protecting your hair from the sun is important too. That's why our product of the month is System Professional Solar Helio Spray. System Professional Solar Helio Spray for all hair types exposed to the sun and water. The water-resistant sun spray, with its non-greasy formula, reduces the effects of UV radiation on the hair. Solar Helio Spray also prevents protein damage, color fading, and moisture loss. Available online and in the salon
Shop Local and Shop Online!
We all know that shopping locally is important. Spending money with local businesses puts food on the tables of the families who work there and helps to grow our community. We also know that sometimes shopping locally can be a tad inconvenient. With some businesses shutting before we finish work and get a chance to buy what we need, many of us turn to the ease of online order. Well, now you can purchase all your hair products and accessories online, guilt-free, knowing you're supporting a local business. Pretty great huh!
